Who said speed dating is only for humans? This story about speed dating dogs will prove otherwise. Fifteen dog owners in New York City decided to get together and throw an event for all their dogs so they can speed date.
There is a simple rule to follow. Two dogs would be paired together, and the owners are going to take a photo. They will see who can take the cutest pictures. Hopefully, sparks can fly between the dogs. After a while, the dogs are allowed to switch partners to find their perfect match.
The owners were hopeful that their dog could find a new best friend or even a soulmate. Valentine-themed snacks were also served for both dogs and owners. These are a delicacy to chomp on while dogs and people mingled.
They also made sure to give a showing of the Disney movie “Lady and the Tramp.” They hope it will get the mood going.
This event was organized by a dog group based in New York called The Barking Lot. The event took place in a dog-friendly furniture store called Burrow House.
The dog parents all have Instagram accounts for their dogs. They used this medium to connect and set-up the meeting. The event isn’t solely focused on finding love for the dogs. It’s also a gathering that helps unfortunate dogs. The event raised $300 for a rescue organization called the “Best Friends Animal Society.” Many of the dogs are close to their owner’s hearts because they are rescued dogs.
Some dogs preferred to be alone during the event. It looks like cupid’s arrow didn’t work on everyone. Funny enough, some of the pups even left their dates. All in all, every dog looks like they had a good time. It’s a happy event that raised money for a cause.
