Jasey Jentsch’s father formed an incredible bond with their dog, Bruce. He is a Boston terrier dog, and as a puppy, his former owner was about to surrender him at the shelter, and the Jentsch Family adopted him.
The dad was, at first, wary of adopting a pet, but as soon as he saw Bruce, they fell in love. They became the best of friends. According to Jasey, every Saturday, the two would sit together on their recliner and watch TV together. They were inseparable.
Bruce was a playful and active dog, but two years ago, he lost his sight. And this tragedy made his relationship with the father stronger. The situation brought them even closer, and Bruce trusted the dad no matter what, more than anyone else.
And as life took its toll on Bruce, he passed away peacefully at their home. It left a big void in the hearts of each family member. But more so, on the dad. Bruce’s death affected him most.
And so Jasey and the mom had an idea to help ease the pain that the dad feels. They discovered a company that sells and makes a custom pillow displaying people’s pet, and they ordered immediately to honor Bruce.
When Jasey’s dad saw the gift, he broke down. As soon as he saw Bruce’s face on the pillow, he could not help but cry. It’s as if Bruce became alive and the father holds him.
The pillow made the father happy, and he appreciated it much. Losing a dog is inevitable, but we will never feel prepared for it. The amount of love we share with them is profound that it cannot compare to any relationships. We can all agree and relate to the father’s grief, and we can only sympathize.
At least they shared the most beautiful years they had in this life. Watch and witness the meaningful moment of below:
My dog of 12 years (my dads best friend) just recently passed, so my mom got a pillow with his picture on it for my dad. i think it’s safe to say he’s head over heals for it….❤️ pic.twitter.com/A46Zp6GNWd
